Mint is not blocking JavaScript - it is your browser, Firefox.

If you have an Add-on installed such as NoScript, you can grant permission to run JavaScript for individual websites.

Assuming that you are using Firefox, have you checked that "JavaScript" is enabled?

In FF, click on Edit, Preferences, Content and place a tick into the box next to "Enable JavaScript".

Checking out the Zynga Poker site, I noticed that they require Flash and that there is no mention of JavaScript. Possibly that is where an error occurs. Can you watch YouTube movies?

Check in Synaptic Package Manager if both "flashplugin-nonfree" and "flashplugin-installer" are installed.

I have loaded Mint 7 temporarily on my machine and find that everything works fine out of the box. Since this fault has appeared "ever since I installed Linux Mint", as you said, perhaps you need to reinstall Linux Mint.

Considering the lack of information you give to people who try to answer your question, I don't think that I will bother to continue.

Questions unanswered (among others): Is flashplugin-nonfree" and "flashplugin-installer" installed?

Perhaps someone else has the patience to put up with this nonsense - I am OUT.
