I'm new(ish) to Mint (17 Cinnamon) but experienced with Linux since 2000. My understanding of what's "inside the box" has grown outdated; e.g., the fuse filesystem; D-Bus. Is there a book you can recommend to get me up to speed again? If not specific to Mint, what about Ubuntu or Debian -- how much would be applicable to Mint?
For a book directly oriented towards Mint, I'd start at O'Reilly.
If you broaden your horizons to Linux, particularly as the topics you mention are really generic topics and not necessarily specific to Mint, you might find more to choose from.
