video problems with mint 7

I've installed mint 7 & thinks it's great. While messing with it I've managed to delete a program/programs required for video !!! Now it only starts in text mode. I've tried various Xstart, X11 etc. nothing seems to work. can someone lead me by the hand to restoring this current loaded version of mint. I have a ton of stuff I'd realy like not to loose
Paul

When you say a " ton of stuff " - do you mean installed software / programs
OR do you mean that you have lots of data type stuff like photo's ?.

I, too, am in love with Gloria. Very, very nice. Everything works a charm. It cannot get much better than this.

Amazing piece of work and I've wasted no time installing it on everything I can.

Indeed, i have converted a couple people to Linux via Gloria
