Question Cannot get updates, Linux Mint Olivia

Trying to look for program updates, I get a red cross and this text:ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR###ERROR
E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/packages.medibuntu.org_dists_ra

Trying to get to Synaptic, getting this text:E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/packages.medibuntu.org_dists_raring_free_i18n_Translation-en
E: Pakettilistoja tai tilatiedostoa ei voi tulkita tai avata.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

As you see,there's a bit Finnish in the text, but the message should be clear to anyone who knows more than me (66 years, not very skilled...)

Please, anyone, what shall I do? Othervise the computer is vorking OK, but clearly something is the matter with updating...

What exactly, should I report. To whom?

Medibuntu project has been abandoned, so you need to remove Medibuntu repos from your software sources as explained here: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=147271

Thank you!

I went to Linux Mint Forums, seems to have helped me after doing some gksudoing and following the advice, at least the red cross is away and I got quite a lot of updates and gained access to synaptics again and so on, so I guess the worst is over. Good to have people wanting to help all around the world!
