This method works but the customer doesn't like to open a link and it requires them to save, read and then delete, which is a hassle for them. Any ideas?
I know I am late to the party, but just noticed this question
You did not mention the window manager. Gnome and KDE can grab screen prints using "PrintScrn".
But in Lotus Notes you can use menu "File --> Import" to copy a jpg file into the email directly. This does not attach a file but brings the image in. Note, it may be under Edit but the item you want to find is "Import", my memory is fuzzy.
