Xircom Cardbus II PCMCIA network card problem on fedora
I'm having a problem with my laptop's network card. The card fails to work whenever I start the computer, switch to another console (with Ctrl-Alt F1 for example), or when my screen saver comes on. The light on the card is always on, but I am unable to use it at all (cant check email, surf the web...)
When I eject/re-insert the card (with /sbin/cardctl eject 0 ; /sbin/cardctl insert 0) it works fine.
It beeps twice when I eject and not at all when I insert it (but still works).
I also get the following error when I'm starting up:
interface 'eth0' not found
I thought it might be an IRQ conflict, here is the line containing IRQ 11 in my /proc/interrupts file:
11: 1587 XT-PIC usb-uhci, ohci1394, Texas Instruments PCI4451 PC card Cardbus Controller, Texas Instruments PCI4451 PC card Cardbus Controller (#2), eth0
So I tried to add "exclude irq 11" to my /etc/pcmcia/config.opts file, but that didnt do anything (/proc/interrupts didnt change at all).
I'd appreciate any help. I'm still trying to learn my way around so please be descriptive
Thanks a lot
