Wrong character when typing

I am new to linux and have just installed Redhat on my laptop Toshiba Satellite 2105CDS. When installing the program the keyboard keys were alright. But after booting the computer, whenever I type in letter like "a", a letter "ia" is entered, and when I type in "i" the combination "ai". What is wrong and how can I fix this. I tried to reinstall the same problem occured.
Thank you:confused:

If it is just those two keys, you should check that the keyboard is not broken. (How do those keys type in the installer? With live distros?)

You should be aware that redhat 9 is legacy and well depreciated.
OTOH: your laptop is pretty aged too ... so RH9 may be a good choice.
