I installed Suse 9.2 on my HP ze4315 yesterday and I'm very impressed. Not only did it detect my Linksys usb wireless adapter (wusb11), but suspend-to-disk actually works.
What version wusb11 are you using? I have suse 9.1 installed on my system and I've been trying to get a wusb11 v2.8 installed with no luck. If 9.2 will detect it automatically I will install that instead, I just wanted to know ahead of time before I make that jump. Also do you know if it is possible to bridge the wireless connection with a wired connection. I am trying to connect one end of my house to the other via wifi.
I have version 2.6 which uses the atmel chipset. It worked very well in 9.1 also. Have you done a YOU update and selected the drivers for the chipset the 2.8 uses? I'm no sure which chipset it uses, though. google should help, though
I have been looking into getting a bridge, too. Most distributions don't work with the wusb11 and I would like more freedom.
A bit off subject, but do you have any advice on how i can get my wireless to work on suse 9.2. In YAST it detects my wireless usb device(WUSB11 v 2.6), but im not sure how to activate it or anything. I have dhcp enabled on my router, perhaps that has soemthing to do with it. Any help would be appreciated. thanks
Cata, make sure the right interface is up with ifconfig. You interface for example might be wlan0 or ath0 or somthing else. once you did that do dhclient and that should work.
on the v2000 I noticed the same thing with SUSE 9.2 where the wireless did not work. If you type "route" you can see the routing table and you'll notice that if you are only using wireless that the gateway is *.. set it to your gateway on your network. I'm not sure the root of the problem but a workaround is to manually set the gateway using "route add default gw 192.168.1.1 eth1" (replace the ip address with your gateway address)
