Woody 2.2.20 kernel and zen1200 (rtl-8139) nic .. missing files or just confusion.
Hi!
Im newbie so go easy on me...
System:
Toshiba portege 3110ct
PII 300
196mb ram
6gb hdd
Zonet Zen1200 (realtek 8139) pcmcia NIC
NO EXTRAS (cdrom,portreplicator)
Current software:
Multiboot w2k and Woody
Kernel 2.2.20 should support realtek 8139 card but i get wery strange results with this card (w2k works with the thing like a charm).
The strange thing is that on boot it gets an irq0?!?!? when i do modprobe 8139too it does not give any errors... ok then when i type ifconfig eth0 it show's the adapter (w/o adresses and stuff) ok so i try ifconfig eth0 up whitch produces: siocsifflags: Device or resource busy error?!?!?
Also i can not assign any setings to that adapter.
lsmod shows that 8130too is loaded amongst needed pcmcia modules.
According to pcmcia-howto it cant identify the card properly (one low beep)
So i tryed to manually add needed lines to /etc/pcmcia/config this produces error: config error, file 'config' line 134: unknown device: 8139too
Config file added lines (consulted with pcmcia-howto and man pages):

Arrgh!!!! the horror continues.... now i messed around to get the canyon wifi (rtl8180) to work and now even the zen1200 does not work!! It reports irq 255 and that'sit... any one got any ideas? i tryed to fiddle around the bios, changing various parameters (after undoing all modifications to system that i made to get canyon working) and nothing...
Any ideas? Why the hell irq 255? and i havend found method to ,,tell'' it to be something else... God dammit ... why the hell does not linux has something as simple as user customisable IRQ handling... it suposed to be a ,,lego'' (linux that is) why the hell tere must be soooooo mutch butf*** with something so simple as irq? ARRGH:.. some one help or i will send this project to hell in a handbasket!!!
