Smile WLAN on HP D530

I recently acquired a HP D530 notebook pc and installed on it Fedora core 8. Unfortunately, the WLAN is not detected. I do not know the hardware device name and model. Can anyone help me to get it working. Thank you in advance and have a thoughtful day

Posting the info would help. Also posting the portion on the network card from the output ' /sbin/lspci -v ' will help others to help you see the best module of choice for your network nic card.

It is the Broadcom one. Not used that chipset before so not sure if b43 module will work with it. I would google the chipset with linux as a search option to see what you find. If no kernel module then look into ndiswrapper and using the windows inf driver with it. Many post on installing and setting up ndiswrapper here and many distro specific.

MAC address

There is a built in driver for broadcom wlan on fedora core 8 but it can't work on the Broadcom card i have. I can't even get the MAC address. On trying to activate it, it gives the response "tg3 device eth1 does not seem to be present, delaying initialization.". Let me try out ndiswrapper website and thank you.
