wireless problem
I am in a hotel and there is wireless internet available. I was using it my frist two nights here on my linux laptop and last night i did a Yast Online Update for the suse 9.1 I shut the computer down that night now when i started it back up this morning i cannot get the login screen to come up. There is a signal and it says its connected to the wireless network i just cant get my log in screen. Is there a way i can find out what that update was that i did and undo it or go back somehow?

You can probably find something in /var/log/YaST2
Your online update was done with Yast, so I assume you will have entries in there. Did you update the kernel? That is what probably messed you up. I have encountered that quite a bit. I usually go into the yast-software and just reinstall the stock kernel that came with the distro. I'd start by looking at the logs first tho. Maybe you can get some info from the /var/log/boot.log also TF |
