Wireless netgear MA111 adapter

Hello,
I have never ever dealt with wireless in linux, can someone point me in the right direction?

I have a Wireless netgear MA111 adapter, it's a little usb stick.
I would like to configure it for my Asus 28600 laptop using (I hope, Mandriva 2006).
I do not have internet at home and I would like to set this up to use in the local coffee shop which has wireless access.

Thanks in advance...:newbie:

You can use a program called ndiswrapper for loading the windows drivers (see their homepage and the how-to-section) and the command "iwconfig wlan0 [options]" to configure your wireless card. With "dhcpcd -d -t 10 wlan0" you may be able to reach the access-point or if they have a static IP with this IP.

Fluxx.
