Unhappy Wireless interface is not detecting on ubuntu 9.04 with Dell 600m Inspiron laptop

i installed ubuntu 9.04 on my Dell 600m Inspiron laptop and its wireless interface is not listing while i run "ifconfig" command in shell promt.
Should i need to install a separate driver for the wireless interface?
