Wireless Connection Problems
I am brand new to Linux. I have a Windows XP Desktop wired to a Linksys BEFW11S4 802.11b wireless router. I have an Advent 7046 with a Prism 802.11g built in wi-fi card. When I run XP on the laptop, no problem in connecting to the router and the Internet. When I run the SuSE 9.2 LiveCD and configure the wireless network adapter, which it picks up as a prism card, I cannot connect to the router at all. It is just not seeing it. I've configured the connection exactly the same as when under Windows. Same ESSID, same key, same IP address, same Default Gateway but I just can't get an Internet connection. Once configured do I have to manually connect or something? Please help, Linux looks great, safe and secure, I want to say bye bye to Windows but I cannot give up wireless connectivity on my laptop.
