ihave a gateway 3040gz laptop. and i installed fedora core last night. in order to turn wireless off and on you much use the fn keys, which dont seem to work with linux installed. but the wireless is currently on, so that shouldnt be the problem.
im new to linux and used to windows. i have no idea how to connect to a wireless lan with my internal wireless card through linux. but when i open mozilla. it says it cant find whatever page.

It helps if you have some previous knowledge of using the Terminal (Command Prompt for Windows). First of all, you want to download a program called NdisWrapper. NdisWrapper is a program that allows Linux to run Windows wireless Internet drivers. Since the instructions are so long on how to install, I recommend you look up instructions on how to install NdisWrapper. Their Wiki is located here: http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m....php/Main_Page

If that doesn't help, then search these forums here. www.linuxquestions.org is a great site and they will be more than willing to help you install NdisWrapper and get your wireless Internet going. Oh, and by the way, make sure your card is compatible. Check the list of cards known to work on the NdisWrapper Wiki. I hope you get Internet working!

From Gateway's website it looks like you have the Intel Pro 2200 wireless card, which should be detected by fedora, so you don't need to mess with ndiswrapper. I do not know anything about Fedora, so I am not able to help you with the configuration of the card, sorry.
