Wifi not staying connected

I just upgraded to OpenSUSE 12.3 on my laptop and am having problems with the wireless network. I can successfully connect but after 10-60 seconds it stops working:

The weird part is that if I have a ping running and it pauses for a few seconds, if I stop the ping and restart, it will keep pinging fine for another 5-10 seconds. If I just let it go I will get the above error. Also, If I stop the ping before I start seeing the "No buffer space" error, ping reports no dropped packets.

My card is a Broadcom BCM 4312. I've tried both the b43 and the broadcom-wl driver and they both have the same problem. I remember that I had this problem with a prior version of OpenSUSE, I think 12.0 or 12.1, I don't remember for sure. I was never able to get it working properly. I previously had 12.2 installed on the laptop and it worked without any problems.

I just tried the broadcom-wl driver again. I was wrong when I said I got the same error. When I use the broadcom-wl driver it stays connected as long as there is very little traffic (nothing more than ping). As soon as I try to do something using any kind of network traffic the connection dies and ping reports "Destination Host Unreachable."

I did some further testing. When I use the b43 driver, once the connection drops then I'm booted off the wireless network and I can't rejoin. When using the broadcom-wl driver, once the connection dies it stays connected to the wireless network. If I run wireshark I can still see broadcast traffic. I see continuous arp requests from my laptop for the gateway ip but I'm not seeing any responses. It seems that the connection dies because it stops receiving arp responses. I still see broadcast traffic unrelated to my laptop.

Solved
Hello,

for me it is solved. And here is how:
- I have disabled backports sources
- apt-get install --reinstall bcmwl-kernel-source
And that's it!

As it does not help for your problem, I have searched for what have really changed:

Thus, I do use the wl driver instead of the b43.

It's working for me now. Apparently it wasn't just a driver problem. Both the routers that I was trying to connect to were using TKIP encryption. I switched it to AES and now it seems to be working fine.
