why memory usage get from command 'free' and app 'system monitor' is not the same?


hi all,
as subject, when i want to get my system memory usage . i found that , the result get from command 'free' and GUI app 'system monitor' isn's same. can anyone tell me why , which one is true

It should not be different. Can you show example of both?

Go read this for general memory stat reporting under Linux.
