Which netbook's wireless supports Linux by default ?
I've been googling for quite some time but unable to find complete information of which netbook's wireless (that comes with harddisk) supports Linux by default :
1. Acer Aspire One
2. Lenovo S10
3. Dell Mini 9
4. EEE 1000h
5. HP Mini 2133
6. HP Mini 1000
7. Wind MSI 100
Appreciate anyone that had the netbook and can confirm.
THANKS in advance.

Acer One comes with hdd and just installed Debian on it.
Confirmed that the wireless is working on Linux
I have an EEE PC 701 which I have installed UbuntuEEE 8.04.1 on.
The wireless works great. In fact the other night I downloaded 2
ISO's and 78 updates on it in about 7 hours. I bought it for work.
I can connect from the parking lot when guests with windows cant connect
from their rooms. I was really impressed the other week when I connected to the lobby connection from about a half mile away.
I just got a Dell Mini9 and the wirelss card uses Broadcom's new (but still proprietary) linux driver. However, the Mini9 fails your harddisk test since it comes with an SSD, not a hard disk. That said, a 16GB SSD is plenty of room for the OS and loads of programs, and I've tossed a 16GB SDHC in to hold my data and work files.
I have the Acer Aspire One it works great with Debian wireless is functional. (atheros wireless)
Saw a guy at the Ohio Linux Fest with the Lenovo and he had wireless working as well. I like the lenovo because it has an access panel to get to the Hard Drive, and RAM slots without voiding your warranty (as you would with the Acer AspireOne and some others)
look around the notebookreview site for decent reviews on the netbooks. he doesn't cover Linux compatability directly but from a hardware perspective it's nice coverage.
In terms of upgradeability, the S10 is much easier to upgrade than many netbooks currently on the market. Some of the netbooks we've seen to date require complex disassembly in order for you to get to the storage drive, system RAM, or wireless cards. Even worse, some other netbooks have slots for upgrades but no connections on the motherboard so it is impossible to upgrade them. This is not the case with the S10.
If you search around you will find a lot of HOW-To's for the netbooks with Various Distributions.. which will help give you an idea about any compatibility issues you may have,.. for instance here are the ones I have found for the Acer AspireOne.
I just brought the hp 2133 mini, and it comes with Suse 10 Enterprise. Im having some problems configuring the wireless connection though. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it. I been doing research and found a document, but it didn't work http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/17037.html
I've seen quite a few people commenting with issues about the 2133 and Suse 10 Enterprise. Do a search here and you are sure to turn up a bunch of threads. I think some of them may have switchd to Opensuse 11 to try and resolve their issues.
What's even worse is that HP is refusing to support the 2133 with Linux even though they installed it. One of the posters here has a 2133 and called HP about wireless problems and was told that he had voided his warranty by installing Linux. Apparently telling them that HP installed Linux did no good.
So if you're thinking about a 2133, look elsewhere. If you already have one, switch distros to something more manageable.
I actually figured it out, but thanks for the adviced, there are alot of people having issues with the wireless connection for the HP 2133
It would be good form to tell us what you did to fix it...

This warrants some follow-up with HP. Do have any more details?

Since it wasn't me no, I don't. The user I was trying to help, ddclutch, apparently emailed HP with some questions and was told that he had voided the warranty by installing Linux(this is the post in question). I suspect that the call center drones HP uses haven't been given any scripts that mention the word "Linux" and therefore have no clue what to do other than beat the customer until they go away.

Please, please, PLEASE post what you did. There are a number of people getting completely hammered by this and yours is the only claim to success I've seen.
I have the Acer aspire one (with SSD but there is HDD version avalable) the wireless works fine in all linuxen as its an atheros chipset but in ubuntu the hardware driver default dousent support it porpally, download from the madwifi project works fine.
