Where to buy no-OS laptop w/ service plan

I'd like to buy a no-OS laptop that I'll put Linux on myself, but I'd like to also buy a 3- or 4-year service plan like they offer at Best Buy or Circuit City because everyone I know who has a laptop has had hardware failures (AC adapter fails, pixels die, etc.) within two years of owning the laptop. So, I'm scared to just buy a laptop from some internet company via Pricewatch that only offers the standard manufacturer's warranty. Any tips? Or should I be safe with the manufacturer's warranty? Any good online sites to shop that offer reliable service plans?

Thanks!
