Unhappy What's the easiest way to configure a wireless connection on a Dell XPS laptop?

Hello Linux Experts,

I've loaded out Linux Slackware 12.2 on my Dell laptop; it is configured as a dual bootable machine "Windows" & "Slackware Linux". Everything works great except for the wireless Internet connection on the Linux side. I'm a newbie and I admit I'm lost right now; would someone be so kind and break down the procedure in basic steps what to do to get it up and running. The basic hardware components of the laptop is listed below:

IntelŽ Core™ 2 Duo P8600 (3MB cache/2.4GHz/1066Mhz FSB)
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1067MHz (2 Dimms)
NVIDIAŽ GeForceŽ 9500M - 256MB
320GB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
Genuine Windows VistaŽ Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-bit
Slot Load DVD+/-RW (DVD/CD read/write)
High Definition Audio 2.0
Dell Wireless 1510 802.11n Half Mini-Card

I'll appreciate any type of quality assistance to get the wireless connection up and running.

That looks like a minor update of this m1330. What network chip - intel or broadcom ?. There is a slack package for the Intel 3945/4965 - don't know about the Broadcom option. What does this (from a terminal) produce
Code:
lspci | grep -i network

Appreciate the help, Syg00.

Here's the output from the requested command you wanted.

root@host:~# lspci | grep -i network
06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller (rev 01)

root@host:~#

Looks like Broadcom might finally be coming to the party - have a look this.
Previously would probably have needed fwcutter. Note I don't know if this works with Slack - I specifically bought the Intel chip, but that was over a year ago.
Search here on LQ for "slack broadcom" or bcm4322 - should get plenty of hits should you need some help.

Edit: looking at that README, note that everything after the untar will need to be done as root. You might want to start a new thread in the slackware forum once you start, as you probably will need some (slack specific) help.
