Smile What should I do with a netbook (HP Mini 110-1020) that has a broken HDD?

Hi, I own a netbook that has a faulty HDD (DRDY error) and I was thinking that maybe I could buy a MicroSD card and use that as a storage device with a lightweight Linux (SliTaz maybe). What do you think? Can you figure something else to do with the netbook than using it as a paperweight?

Sd card or USB drive can run Linux on that netbook. Does not have to be Just Slitaz either

I was thinking of a SD Card because a USB drive it's kinda uncomfortable but yes, I know that any of that kind of storage devices could do it.

I was thinking of Slitaz because of the boot times and the fact that I'm not going to use it more than to navigate, listen to music or chatting.

Why not replace the HDD?

@TB0ne, @MTK358, I live in Argentina, and a new SATA HDD would cost a lot plus I don't think the price is worth it (the netbook will be used for simple things). A flash drive or SD Card would work better (less expensive).

Just substitute SD for USB

and a Windows box.
