I'd like to ask a similar question so I guess no need to start a whole new thread. What's the best notebook for Linux?
I'm trying to choose between several Asus and Lenovo models (all within 500-550 euro range I'm afraid), one of them has an atheros lan the exact version of which I can't find out (no luck at either the manufacturer or vendor websites or elsewhere on the web). Seeing how I use Debian netinstalls on my system it would be a bit of a problem if my wired internet did not work during install
Anyway to cut the story short, I'd very much appreciate to hear about anyone's general experience with new Asus and Lenovo notebooks when it comes to running Linux on them, and also, if there is a resource someplace for supported hardware for the kernel. Thanks.
