what do these errors encountered upon starting linux mean
Hi,
When I start linux (Ubuntu, from Live CD) I get this message which I do not know is error or not -
100Gb SATA HDD Shadowed
nVidia Shadowed
Then there are a series of 8 error messages -
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 0 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 1 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 2 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 3 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 4 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 5 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 6 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 7 of ....
[some hexa address] Cannot allocate region 0 of device...
Does anyone know what this means? I am stuck with this part and I know if I install Ubuntu again, I will land up Linux without GUI.
My machine is pavvilion dv5000 series with -
intel duo core
SATA HDD 100GB
nVidia geforce go 7400
Thanks
AJ
