volume key on Lenovo Thinkpad SL300 laptop not working

hello all,

I installed lenovo-sl-laptop successfully and it is working beautifully, brightness, power, etc.

the only remaining problem is that volume control keys on keyboard do not work. do you know anyway i can make them working?

When i tried with xev, it shows that [when i press vol. up key] it is detected with keycode 176. Is there anyway i can use a software to listen to this, and then increases the sound volume?

Best ,

This depends on the DE you are using. In GNOME, You can just setup a keyboard shortcut.

On KDE 4. I think it's under System Settings-> Keyboard & Mouse-> Global keyboard Shortcuts-> Kmix.

Try to assign the hotkey to increase & decrease volume.
