VGA-out problem on Packard Bell Ipower 5243

Hi everyone,

last year I bought myself an old, semi-broken laptop for a few euros: the Packard Bell Ipower 5243

The screen is broken, but I was planing on using it in a fixed place with a regular crt monitor.

Unfortunately; sometimes the output to the monitor works, sometimes it doesn't. And I have no idea why.

The laptop boots up nicely, so I *can* ssh into it, what logs can I look at for this?
