Hi Guys..
Was working with Ubuntu 11.10 and everything was fine.. i updated all the packages upto date in update manager and restarted my laptop. It is toshiba L650 Satellite. Now no internet port is working..
If it's really urgent, I suggest backing up your report, then reinstalling Ubuntu 11.10, but don't update it since you don't want to kill your net connectivity again. However, be careful, because you will have lost out on all of the post-release security updates.
If it's not that urgent, then I advise not doing what I suggested above, and thoughtfully considering your options before doing anything rash.
I had this issue with debian squeeze when I was exploring linux. have you tried running lspci in terminal, getting your chipset information and updating the drivers?
