upgraded kernel, won't let me compile kernel once Suspend2 patches are applied
I upgraded to kernel 2.6.13, and downloaded the Suspend2 patch for it. I compiled it once w/out the patch and it worked fine. I then tried to compile it w/ the patch applied, and now it doens't work. It won't finish compiling the kernel. I'm using Debian Etch, "pure" kernel source, patch 2.2rc7, and make-kpkg(to compile the kernel). Help!!!

Keep in mind that swsusp2 patches are BETA stuff and it may or may not work with your kernel/settings/laptop. Especially since the (damn madness ) 2.6 kernel change versions every 3 days or so, it is getting a real nightmare to programmer to make reliable patches. Also, some modules/drivers/stuff in your kernel may conflict about swsusp2 patches. Try to find out "what" is crashing the compilation, if it is a module, try to make it included, if it is included, make it a module, if you don't need it, remove it? Trying any earlier/older version of swsusp2 may do some good as well. |
I had swsusp2 working w/ 2.6.8. I'll have to get back to you on the error itself. I thinks it's probably a module, because it occurs pretty late in the compilation.
