Unable to mount root fs om 03:41
Hi
I have an old laptop without cd-player or usb-boot (Armada M300) I have tried to install DSL on it by putting the harddrive in another computer and install it there. When i boot it on the other computer it starts up ok but when i put it in the old laptop, i get the following: VFS: Cannot open root device "341" or 03:41 Please append a correct "root=" boot option Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:41 Can anyone help me? Thanks. /Anton |
Sounds like an HCL issue. The install is setup for another machine than the one you are booting causing a kernel panic.

Is there anyway around this? I can't install it on the old laptop itself. I think that dsl is trying to use a ramdisk, maybe it's possible to tell dsl not to use do that when i install on the other computer.
