Alright, I got the Community Bulletin, so I thought I'd post here before giving up hope.
I recently got a 2G Surf, and wanted to put Ubuntu Eee 8.04.1 on it. Well, it installs just fine, but then won't go to the desktop, because there's no space left to write the settings (or something along those lines).
So, here's what I have done:
1. Setup the 2G Surf with one partition so that it runs a Ubuntu Eee live
2. Setup a second partition on the 2G Surf as a spot for persistent changes
3. Installed Ubuntu Eee to a 4GB flash drive
4. Made of SquashFS of the filesystem in step #3
5. Replaced the squashfs on the 2G Surf with the one made in step #4
However, I cannot seem to get my currently live-only 2G to keep changes I make, despite adding the parameters mentioned on
Pendrivelinux.com to the "kernel" line of my "menu.lst" file.
Odd notes:
1. The neither of the kernels I tried to use would work, until I removed the executable attribute. Before this, I would get dropped to Busybox.
2. Adding the "persistent" parameter to my "kernel" line in "menu.lst" causes a drop to Busybox.
Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks in advance,
