Ubuntu booting off a flash drive on a laptop.

I have formatted my flash drive to make it so i can boot off of it, and im putting the Linux on there. AKA Ubuntu 9.04. Has any one ever done this before? Are there thing i should be worried about? Personally i hope it works. Because then i can carry my own personal computer in my pocket. That would be pretty sweet huh?

BTW. i should probably mention i have fine specs and that im using a windows XP. I've done most of the research but i don't know how this flash drive will work.

Kat Skella 08-04-2009 01:38 PM

If you burned ubuntu 9.04 to cd

Kat Skella 08-05-2009 01:32 AM

No need to burn disk and use usb creator. Install unetbootin, and use it to create liveusb.

Kat Skella 08-06-2009 12:55 PM

well i dont have a disk cuz my dad was stupid and got dvd-rs instead of cd.
