I am planning to install Ubuntu on a Compaq Presario C700.. This has a 160Gb Hd 1 gb ram, wi-fi , webcam , no bluetooth SD card reader , Touch pad..
The reqular peripherals ...
Can I expect everything to be recognized with UBuntu ...
I have not even started installing it... Thought I will give it a try if no unsolvable problems appear...
Hi. I have a Presario C700 which I've just installed Ubuntu on today. Everything seems to work fine, except for the wireless adapter, which appears to need proprietary drivers. I'm about to embark on a quest to get them working now...
I haven't tried using the webcam yet.
If you download the Ubuntu live CD, you can run it on your system without installing anything. This will give you an idea of how well it'll detect everything.

Ok I remember trying out the Live CD and ... finding that the wi-fi did not work ... don't remember about the webcam... thank you for the link too... am going to look at it now..
