Trouble with laptop video
 
Hi,

I am trying to install X11 on my old Dell C600. Everything was going well until I got to the video. The vesa driver works fine, but I can't get anything accelerated going on it. I have tried open and closed sources drivers, but no joy.

The video card is an ATI Rage Mobility M3 AGP 2X (Rev 02)

Try this: remove all those video depth subsections and leave only one so you can fix the resolution (try the one below first, then try the ones you need. not sure if yours is 24 bit color or 16 bit, some old video board work accellerated only in 16, some new ones only in 24, so try them! make sure to change Depth and DefaultDepth together):

Unfortunately, that has not resolved it.

I have a C600 too, here is mine, I believe the HorizSync and VertRefresh are important with this screen. I also think you need to use 16bit color for DRI to work, I decided I needed color more than acceleration on this system.
