Touchscreen in Notebook Fujitsu Siemens Livebook B-2130
Hi guys!
I can't install this touchscreen on Ubuntu 7.10. I've tryed many howto's like this: mysunrise.ch/users/joerg.hau/linux/b142.htm techpubs.sgi.com/library/tpl/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi/linux/HOWTO/usr/HOWTO/XFree86-Touch-Screen-HOWTO.html#s6 stz-softwaretechnik.com/~ke/touchscreen/evtouch.html but I'm unable to configure this on my own. So please help me to do that if you could. Sorry for my bad English, but it is not my native language. |
There's a problem before you even get to the touch screen. The computer does even come close to meeting ubuntu's hardware requirements even for xubuntu.
Otherwise... There appears to be a modern port of the driver which may or may not work. http://www.conan.de/touchscreen/lifebook-2.6.html Basically the computer and hardware in it are so old that it's not even remotely supported anymore. It may be easiest to install one of the really old linux's from those links you found and just let it be out of date. |
Thanks for your reply. I can't download this file form http://www.conan.de/touchscreen/lifebook-2.6.html i always get error 404 (tryed on firefox and wget) and cant find any mirror.
Id would like to stay with kubuntu. I found this topic on ubuntu forum -> http://ge.ubuntuforums.com/showthread.php?t=327554#5 I've install evtouch driver and configure it as vilee says but this still doesnt work. I've try to configure xorg.conf to use every of /dev/input/event0 - event6 but still dont work. Could someone help me to localize which one is a touchscreen? Thanks in advanced. |
I cant even see my touchscreen in:
cat /proc/bus/input/devices :/ |
Those instructions are for Ubuntu Dapper Drake. Version number 6.06LTS. Which would be old enough to be on an old kernel that still supports such aging hardware. You should probably install Dapper as it is now proven to work.
