Touchpad and USB mouse

I'm running SUSE 9.0 on a HP Compaq NX7010 and I use a USB/Bluetooth Logitech mouse with it. The touchpad, however, is disabled. How can I easily switch between them?

Start the computer with the bluetooth mouse completely disabled. Not plugged in or with batteries in or anything...

login as root

Redo all the video settings which should affect the mouse too and give you your touchpad.

Restart. Wait for it to start all the way... then plug in /turn on the bluetooth mouse. Should both work then hopefully?
