Toshiba Tecra A3-S611 - Linux possible?

Before I start, I should let you know that I've done some research already. For instance, I found the Linux drivers for the Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG wireless card on SourceForge.

I've got some conflicting information on the wireless part, being some states that you use the driver natively and some states that the drivers are used through NDISwrapper. Does anyone know the correct answer?

I have been unable to find out if there are drivers for the integrated NIC. I don't even know what model the NIC is, as the laptop has no operating system installed and Toshiba's website states that this laptop doesn't even exist so I can't check there to see what it is.

I know the unit has a modem, but frankly I don't care as I'll never use it. You can only inform me if the integrated modem works if you feel extra generous, as I'll play with it if it works but if it doesn't I feel I am at no loss.

Is the video card, a Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 900, compatible with Linux? I'll be checking HCL's immediately after posting this, so I may know the answer before you respond. If so, I'll repost here.

Some sites selling this laptop list the optical drive as a CD-RW/plain old DVD combo drive. However, some of the software listed as coming standard with the laptop suggest it is actually a DVD-RAM drive. (the sites list that InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2 Platinum comes with the laptop as factory) Does anyone know if the drive can burn DVDs?

The graphics adapter is supported. Drivers can be found at http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...9&submit=Go%21
