Toshiba Satellite 4300 Pro T_T problemo

Hi everyone!
I'm using Ubuntuv5.4 on my Toshiba satellite 4300 with kernel: 2.6.10-5-386, gcc version 3.3.5.
Apparently, i'm having some troubles with it at the moment:
1/I read the /proc/cpuinfo or dmesg and got the cpu speed is only 300 MHz while i know for sure that my laptop is using P3 700 Mhz T_T does anyone know how to configure the cpu speed so it run with the right speed?

2/I bought a new wireless netgear WG511v2 pccmcia card from Austin computer(in AUstralia ^^) anyway, it looks good However when i pluged it in, nothing seem to happen! the /var/log/message didn't appear anything as if the card wasn't recognised, the lights on the card didn't flash or do anything. THen i put it into my friend's laptop which is using windows but nothing happened. so i guessed it's hardware fault. I went to the store, asked for replacement and got back a brand new but same card. then guess what? T_T it happened again T_T Well.. anyone know how to fix this? i dun think i'm that i'm unlucky enough to get 2 faulty card one after another ^^

3/I was playing with my infrared tonight and found out that my bloody stupid built in infrared doesn't have driver T_T I went online and dun know what kind of driver could i download and use, i used google and search for: driver linux toshiba satellite 4300 pro infrared but I couldn't find any clue

ANyhow... that's it for now...
thank for your time and consideration
San T
