Toshiba Satellaite L305D - ACPI Events not working properly...
I've compiled my own kernel for network support and other drivers but ACPI isn't working 100%... Actually, only the power button works =(
The Lid and AC doesn't create any events... What kernel options do i need to add?
I have a LinuxMint Live CD which works so i know it's possible, i just don't know why or how to find out... (I even tried to take the config from LinuxMint, but the seriously gums up mine since it's a different kernel version.
I'm using the latest kernel... 2.6.27.4.
I have all of the ACPI stuff in Power Management checked (either mod or built-in; I tried both)
The Toshiba_acpi module won't load and if it's built-in, then it gives a message saying it won't work...
Any ideas? I can post my lspci and dmesg if needed...
# ACPI: Looking for DSDT in initramfs... error, file /DSDT.aml not found.
so... how can I compile an empty DSDT in the kernel so it doesn't handle it? or make it only do 1 function or whatever... Maybe i should just do an initramfs and make it error too... =/
Late Friday i was able to obtain the patched kernel sources for the LinuxMINT distro (all in memory too - very cool) so i copied it to my disk and compiled w/ the config from the cd and poof - all ACPI stuff worked...
This kernel doesn't support my audio or wireless =/
I also found out that, somewhere in the kernel modules, if i disable the wrong one, i lose access to the ACPI and it's not the ACPI portion =/ .... So, maybe it's the same for later kernels... i just don't know how long it will take to identify which kernel modules affect it =/
