Toshiba Notebook Battery Monitor on Slackware 10.2

I have kernel 2.6 yet on Slackware 10.2, but I can not display battery monitor. I configured ACPI parts like below by make menuconfig in kernel.
Inspite of this, there is no battery charge status monitor on main panel of KDE.

"I AM NEW URLS ARE NOT PERMITTED UNTIL I HAVE 3 MESSAGES"

Clicking battery monitor button makes nothing.

Then I disabled APM and compiled kernel again, but nothing changed as before attemts.

problem still continuing.

Do I need any extra program for displaying battery monitor?

(My notebook computer is Toshiba)

I had the same problem on my laptop. I installed Gkrellm and I just use it for my battery monitor. For some reason that works even though nothing else does.
