toshiba gentoo video

i recently installed gentoo 2004.2 on a toshiba 2250cdt, everything works but the screen has a black frame around it. does anyone know how to fix this.. thanks

Does everything have a black frame in X, a terminal or both? How big of a frame are we talking about? What is the max. resolution of your laptop?

Hey I have a Toshiba 2850 and I am trying to install gentoo. I am doing a stage 3 <---NEWB
where did you find the drivers for your toshiba? the video card in mine is Savage/IX-MV. Is there a "package" I can emerge to get the drivers? Sorry I am way newb to linux.

Sound to me like a wrong set BIOS variable, which should expand your sceen to the monitor size... check your BIOS!!

What resolution does your monitor have, and which one is X (or the console) using?? I you haven't installed X post the grub.conf here... I got a feeling about this...
