Toshiba FN-hotkeys SuSE 10.1
I've got a Toshiba Satellite 2435 with all these neat media buttons, but I can't get them to work (not that I can't live without, but it would be nice to have). fnfx just tells me that /proc/acpi/toshiba is missing, and modprobe toshiba tells me that no such device is there.
I've seen a post here or there, some mention an omnibook kernel module, but I haven't found a definitive answer. Anybody out there got something? |
You probably just didn't install all the notebook and mobile software when you installed.
|
I have fnfx on here, not too sure what else I need.
P.S. Some of the buttons kinda work, I say kinda because I can use Fn combinations to adjust the screen brightnes or lock the touchpad before I even get to my bootloader. So, any thoughts? |
Check that you have toshiba_acpi loaded?
|
No toshiba_acpi, and modprobe toshiba_acpi yeilds:
FATAL: Error inserting toshiba_acpi (/lib/modules/2.6.16.21-0.13-default/kernel/drivers/acpi/toshiba_acpi.ko): No such device |
Well, that could be a problem. I didn't think they got rid of that module. And it used to provide extra functions for toshiba computers...
|
So, um, what module should I use/compile?
