toshiba acpid does not work with mandriva 2010.2 kernel 2.6.33.7-desktop-2mnb

toshiba satellite L505D
1. if I activate acpid at startup, machine freezes up
2. at somepoint in time I loaded cooker version and worked fine but as It continue to automatically download different updates of cooker, eventually screwed everything up and had to reload version 2010.1 then update.
3. if I shutdown, will not shutdown completelly, I have to press the on/off button.(a real nuisance).
4. powersaving system does not work, so battery dies real quick.
5. I had the same problem with 2010.1, solved it by installing cooker version, but this option downloads too much new software that is prompt to not function correctly so went back to 2010.2
6. I believe the solution is in the kernel, has anybody has had success with a different kernel than the one I posted?

Desperado in Costa Rica
