Hey Everyone,
I've just upgraded the kernel on my laptop (Toshiba 2545XCDT running Slack 11.0) from 2.4 to 2.6.18, and I've pretty much got everything working except for this weird shutdown problem. The power (not the moniter, I can't switch workspaces or anything, and the power light actually goes off) just dies at random points. I've messed around with power config through XFCE with no luck; in fact, it died once before I even started up the desktop. After it shuts down, I can't turn it on again for like ~5 minutes.

So I'm assuming this is a kernel problem, since it only happened when I updated. I've messed around with different power options, including duplicating the options for the 2.4 kernel with no success. Anyone have any ideas about this? How I could test/solve the problem?
