CPU Freq on Celeron?

Hi there!

I got some problems with my toshiba laptop, it has a few years on its neck (about 3 or so). It is a 1ghz celeron coppermine, and 128 mb ram.

The CPU is currently bugging me. I want to use cpufreq with it. I know it is possible ince withdows manages to handle it. I have enabeled and disabeld a lot of thins in the kernel conifg:
Power managment - CPU Frequeseity.

According to the gentoo powermanagment guide, i have done everything right, still it doesnt work. This is how the kernel conifg looks like.

Code:

CPU Frequency Scaling --->[*] CPU Frequency scaling
          Default CPUFreq governor (userspace)
    <*>  'performance' governor
    <*>  'powersave' governor
    <*>  CPU frequency table helpers
    <M> ACPI Processor P-States driver
<*> Everything that had anything with intel to do.

and yet /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq doesnt exist. Does anybody know is wrong or is cpufreq just not supported by a celeron coppermine in linux?

Cheers,
Benne
