As i understand there are two versions. The new one has the mac address implemented in a software layer as a way to save some cents for 3com ??? At least that is what i read somewhere, sorry guys, don't remember where i read it. The older one has the mac implemented in the hardware and will work with prism54. for the new one you will have to try ndiswrapper and a windows (XP_or?) driver as i understood it.
And if there are some guy out there who succeeded installing any which version of card, please make a manual for us other newbies on this. _ The problem is that:
Yes, the info exists, but in chunks and bits everywhere,
it would be nice to have it put together .
... .am i right.
Like two simple installs for those two versions. Like f.ex you've succeeded with whatever card_version in another Distro but not in your new. Do tell us about the version/Distribution you did get to work in and .... how you did it. In a new thread if you like
It would be ever so nice.

btw: One good resource for figuring out if a wireless card can be made to work is
http://www.linux-wlan.org/docs/wlan_adapters.html.gz
And if you want a guide for ndiswrapper you should try
http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...p/Installation
If you're using Mandrake 10.1 be aware that it has built in the ACX100 Sourceforge Project Driver as a kernel module, you will need to remove this before install the ndiswrapper.
You will also need a copy of the windows driver, which you can get from the 3com web site, you will need to install the driver with ndiswapper.
