I'm using an HP dv9010us AMD X2 laptop with nvidia video.. Broadcom 4311 wireless.
I have to boot Ubuntu with pci=noacpi in order for the system to boot. Are there any disadvantages to this like my wireless never working by using this command?
Maybe a less drastic option such as nolapic would be adequate for you to boot. I think that without aspci, interrupts won't be shared. You wireless device may not be getting interrupts.
