System never recognises charged battery

Hi,

I recently installed Mint 18 and it does not seem to recognise when the battery is fully charged, but always displays "Using battery power".
I already found a few related discussions at

http://askubuntu.com/questions/58706...lugged-in-asus
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=222503

My biggest concern is not what the status text says, but that the system might actually use the battery and constantly dis- and re-charge it.

Any ideas?

I'd check the status in the command line with acpi. For example, right now I'm using power source and it says
Code:
Battery 0: Full, 100%, rate information unavailable
So, check yours and let us know.

Welcome here, by the way.

Hi,

If your problem is not solved yet, you can try

Code:
> upower -d

Thanks for the suggestion, due to Wifi issues I had to revert back to Windows meanwhile though.
