Synaptics Touchpad on Acer Travelmate 4400
Hey all,
I have an acer travelmate 4400 with Fedora 4 for amd64. Normally the synaptics touchpad works great, but when I do a hot reboot, it no longer works after the reboot. I notice when I boot and the kernel messages say "synaptics reset failed" followed by "Synaptics query failed", and then the touchpad works, however, if I do not see these messages, the touchpad does not work. The driver is compiled into the vanilla kernel I got with fedora. I'd prefer to resolve this without recompiling if at all possible. (too many modules to rebuild ;-) ) Any ideas? Thanks in advance. UPDATE: I Fixed it!! I decided to recompile my kernel with psmouse as a module, and load it at startup, which works everytime. There is also a way to edit the source files to make it work compiled in the kernel, but this seemed easier if I have to recompile anyway. |
reload psmouse
hi!
I use slack, but i hope this work. Reload psmouse #/sbin/modprobe psmouse I but it in rc.local but Fedora use other startskript. be well :) |
