Synaptics Touch Pad: Circular Scroll

Wouldn't it be great if while scrolling down a really long web page, you could just twirl your finger in a circle motion at whatever speed you want (kind of like a fishing reel)? Well, in Windows you can do this with a Synaptics touch pad - after you tweak the settings a little bit. Although it's greate in Windows, I've used Linux for 9 years (Linux is just more fun!) and don't usually use Windows.

Have any of you discovered a way to do this in Linux? It would make the touch pad experience 100 times better at least! If anybody has a solution for this, I recommend all of you try it.

I'm using Arch Linux on my Dell XPS L501X. My xorg.conf touchpad section looks like this:

... oh, there's nothing about synaptic touch pad in my xorg.conf file...

(also, where do I go to change my username? I've had this account since Moses parted the red sea and need to change it).

Thumbs up

Thanks for your help! Oddly enough I have used Arch Wiki for just about everything in getting Arch to work - I'm surprised I didn't even thinking of using it for the touch pad!

I originally went with the common xorg.conf configuration they displayed, but then I changed my mind and installed gsynaptics; and added this to xorg.conf:

Section "InputClass"
Identifier "touchpad cachall"
"SHMConfig" "true"
EndSection
