Question Synaptic Alps touchpad help

well is there a good detailed howto on how to get my touchpad working with FC3 on my Compaq R3240US laptop. I know How to get the basic functions working with editing the grub.conf. i want the right side to work also like the scroll function for example. Like how it works with my Windows XP. i would appreciate any help
