Suspend/hybernate on Inspiron 8100 with Mandriva 2006

I know that suspend/hybernate did not work well under Mandriva LE 2005. Does anyone know if it's available under Mandriva 2006? If so any suggestions on how to set it would be greatly appreciated.

This is strickly a personal opinion, but I think Mandriva 2006 works worse than 2005. Whereas suspend to RAM has never worked under any version, I cannot get "suspend to disk" to work under 2006, despite having all the correct recommended kernel parameters. It seemed to work fine for me under 2005 though.

Theoretically all you should need to get it to work is to pass the following kernel parameter at boot:

resume=/dev/(enter your swap partition here)

For example, if my swap partition was "hda7" then I would need to have lilo append "resume=/dev/hda7" when it boots the kernel.

Hope it works for you, but don't get your hopes up.
